The Danish Patent and Trademark Office (DKPTO) is part of the Danish Ministry of Industry, Business and Financial Affairs, established in 1894. Its main office is located close to Copenhagen, with a regional office in Ikast, Jutland.The office is ISO9001 certified.

The objective of DKPTO is to be the centre for IP-related strategic information, and to protect IP rights for both technical inventions and designs. Its work includes securing future conditions for growth by continuously improving IPR infrastructure.

The Office issues patent and design rights and registers trademarks. It represents Denmark in international IP-related organisations and participates in international negotiations, as well as providing business services and taking part in international projects.
